Tour De France

Eddie And The Hot Rods had already started this tour on Friday 1st October with gigs in Pagney with Dr. Feelgood, and on Saturday 2nd in Clermont Ferrand at the Cooperative de Mai with Dr. Feelgood, The Pretty Things, and Arthur Brown (as in ‘The Crazy World of’).

Richard Holgarth and I flew down to Marseille on the Sunday to join the band for the third gig of the tour, having just spent the Saturday night at the Mean Fiddler (Astoria) celebrating John Otway’s birthday.

It was my original intention to find out where the band was playing and staying so I could simply follow them as best as I could using trains and other local public transport. However, in exchange for helping them out with the merchandise, the band offered me a spare seat in the tour bus - an offer that I considered incredibly generous, and which I jumped at. The pictures on the next few pages are the result. I also managed to sell about €600.00 worth of CDs and T-shirts.

Follow the buttons on the left for a few pictures of the rest of what became the Woolly Poulet tour: Marseille, Avignon, Paris 1 & 2.
